When lead singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mark Foster and his band’s hit song “Pumped Up Kicks” went viral in 2010, the world knew instantly that these guys were making thoughtful, first-rate pop for an on-edge, insecure era.
Foster The People released their debut album, “Torches”, in 2011 to much acclaim, while “Pumped Up Kicks” peaked on charts all over, earning them three Grammy Award nominations. The album also spawned the hits “Helena Beat” and “Houdini”. The second album, “Supermodel”, featured the hit single “Coming Of Age”, and the third album, “Sacred Hearts Club”, the smasher “Sit Next To Me”, achieving quadruple platinum status.
On the announcement of their fourth studio album, “Paradise State of Mind”, Foster The People dropped the cosmically catchy first single, “Lost in Space”, in May 2024, followed by its music video, racking up over 1.5 million views almost overnight. The album, released in August 2024, made its debut in the top 10 of Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. Produced by Mark Foster and bandmate Isom Innis, the album screams optimism and insight in spite of a challenging and dark journey. With setting guitars aside and a heavier focus on synths, dance rhythms, and Mark Foster’s incredible falsetto, a clear inspiration by the disco, funk, gospel, and jazz of the 1970s, creative songwriting choices, and diverse instrumentation, “Paradise State of Mind” is a coming-of-age album, an entire new direction for the band.
It is undeniable: Foster The People is back, and “Paradise State of Mind” is paradise itself!
The British alternative rock duo, Good Neighbours, that brought you the hit single “Home”, charting in a dozen countries, is set to support Foster The People as special guests.
Foster The People live in concert is an experience – one that is easy to get an audience on their feet dancing, armed to the teeth with joy as a weapon against the dark.
