Ava Max found her big break with the release of her 2018 single “Sweet But Psycho.” The track hit #1 in 22 countries including the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. In the U.S., the song hit #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and gained a 4x Platinum certification from the RIAA. In 2019, she followed it up with another Platinum single “So Am I,” and saw her fanbase growing faster than ever. As the world kept on the loop with her amazing pop star energy, Ava Max soon became one of the biggest names in this new era of mainstream pop icons. In March 2020, her iconic track “Kings & Queens” dominated the scene, followed by the anticipated release of her debut album “Heaven & Hell” which featured her other hits “Salt” and “Torn.”

After her 2023 album “Diamonds & Dancefloors” came out in 2023, fans were on the lookout for Ava Max’s next big era. Two years later, she’s back stronger than ever — teasing her fans with “Don’t Press Play.”

On her new single “Lovin Myself,” she strips herself of the outside forces that try to snatch her energies away. “This song came from a moment where I finally realized I didn’t need anyone else’s validation to feel whole,” Max shared with Rolling Stone, sharing that she’s been through tons of highs and lows in her career from “public scrutiny” and “private growth,” she discovered that the most important of them all is her relationship with herself.

Connecting back to her own heart, “Lovin Myself is the most honest I’ve been in a song in a long time,” she adds. It’s a song that encourages one to choose themselves not out of selfishness, but for a desire to heal. “I wanted it to feel like an anthem for anyone who’s learning to be their own anchor.”
