Ari Lennox dropped her highly-anticipated third studio album “Vacancy” via Interscope Records. Its name was inspired by a void in her heart, one that pretty much everyone can relate to. In a conversation with Jennifer Hudson, she shared a bit of the inspiration behind making this record. 

The album’s singles include “Soft Girl Era,” “Vacancy,” “Under the Moon,” and “Twin Flame.”

“Vacancy, the title, it really is that. There’s a space — a void — that I would love for someone to feel, but the reality is people be in and out like a gosh darn hotel,” she said. “So I’ve just been writing a lot about my infatuation phases all the last 34 years of my life.”

Describing the new album as the start of her “soft girl era,” Lennox explores newfound growth while sharing how she’s been practicing sobriety lately.

“I feel a lot clearer. I can’t imagine going back… I just feel a lot more in control,” Lennox explained. 

Critics have noted the album’s magnetic ability to make the listener feel her experiences, down to her raw emotions. Noting her amazing vocals and signature energies that make the powerhouse R&B artist she is today, Ari Lennox definitely served her best yet.
