Belle & Sebastian were scheduled to tour across cities in North America this past year. These shows were a part of a global tour in support of A Bit of Previous, which ended a seven-year gap between studio albums. However, the band had to cancel their plans due to Stuart Murdoch’s myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. It’s an illness he’s lived with for many years and the band decided to prioritize his recovery before hitting the road again.
At the time of the cancellation, he said in a statement that, “While I am hoping that I will improve over the coming months, we felt it would be a safer route to cancel this tour and leave a clear path to recovery, rather than take a risk and have to cancel at the last minute. We had a great plan in place, to release our second LP in six months and hit America up again! While the record made it out, we’re going to have to wait a bit longer until we can tour it.”
Now, the wait is over because the band is officially headed back to the United States in 2024! They’re now promoting two back-to-back albums, Late Developers and A Bit of Previous. So, fans can expect a lot of new songs on the setlist! Earlier this month, they just celebrated the 25th anniversary of their cherished third album, The Boy With the Arab Strap. They released it in a limited edition reissue on vinyl.
This upcoming North American tour is taking them to big cities such as Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more. What’s more important though is that they’re stopping in Denver, Colorado!
