Award-winning rapper El Alfa came out in 2008 and spearheaded the Dominican dembow genre. Being a pioneer, El Alfa became one of the most influential artists in the world of Latin rap. In 2017, he mad ehis breakthrough in the U.S. with his debut album Disciplina. The record enter the Billboard’s Latin chart Top 50. By the following year, El Alfa has entered the chart’s top 10 with his sophomore work El Hombre, El Alfa has released a total of six full studio albums, all of which have entered the U.S. Latin charts. In 2023, he dropped his latest album El Rey Del Dembow.
