With the release of an Anthology edition of their iconic debut album "Badlands", Halsey takes a look back at the journey it took their from Tumblr queen to global popstar. Making do with what she had at the time, she didn't see massive acclaim and billions of streams coming their way. This year, she's celebrating the tenth anniversary of their 2x Platinunm record "Badlands", going back to where it all began. Catapulting their career to unexpected heights, it sure is a legendary piece of art as every single song is certified either gold, platinum, or multi-platinum by the RIAA. At the "Back to Badlands The Tour", it's gonna be a wild ride through their sonic legacy.

A Decade of Badlands

Right from their bedroom, Halsey created a new home - one that she called the "Badlands". A confessional record with catchy hooks that struck a chord in millions of hearts, it was a reflection of their mental place at the time. With music as therapy, these songs represented bits and pieces of their life, tackling power, struggle, and raw emotion through it all. These songs are anthems to fighting hearts that simply want to live, and ultimately survive. The Badlands served as Halsey's escape from the challenges that real life brings. Though there isn't exactly an escape, she finds hope. Just as castles could be built from glorious ruins, everything might just work out in the end. 

"Badlands was so pure because I only had what was available to me," Halsey shared, as cited from Rolling Stone. "All I had going for me were my ideas, so they had to be good and I had to depend on them."

With tracks that talk about carrying people's weight, dark memories, and growing up real fast, Badlands became a surreal world for the singer, and it paved the way for the world to soon find their fighting heart. Today, with over nine billion streams, the whole world had visited and taken part in the Badlands.

The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, featuring some of the biggest songs of their career - "New Americana", "Colors", and "Castle". In August 2025, a 10-year anniversary reissue, Badlands (Decade Edition Anthology) was released. It featured the deluxe album's 16 tracks, plus an unreleased song "You(th)", "Is There Somewhere" & "Empty Gold" from their debut EP, live recordings, remixes, and other surprises.
