Maoli Tickets
Fillmore Auditorium | Denver, Colorado
The most popular band on the island of Hawaii and Polynesian music as a whole is going on tour on the mainland. Shows are selling out fast because you just can’t get the mix of Reggae, Country, and Polynesian music anywhere else. Maoli is taking their “Boots on the Ground Tour Part II” to the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado, on Thursday, October 3rd. They’re bringing some company! It’s going to be a very tropical night, despite the fact that the weather in Denver on this date may not agree.
FIA is going to be one of the opening acts on this night. He’s a polysian artist, but he’s more into hip-hop. That could be a refreshing moment on this early October night. You’ll get to hear some pretty upbeat tracks before the tropical reggae vibes of Maoli flood the stage.
Don Louis is also going to be part of the show at the Fillmore Auditorium on October 3rd. He’s going to be bringing some good’ol country music mixed with some synthetic beats. It’s a very interesting blend that’s great to hear live. The entire show is a combination of genres and styles that’s meant to make the night incredibly memorable.
The first thing that you have to know about Maoli if you’re part of the uninitiated in the band itself is that the dude in the promos is Glenn Awong. He’s the frontman of the band that, at this point has become a bit like Bon Jovi in the sense that people associate Glenn with Maoli and call him that. Maoli is the band, though, and Gleen is the frontman, face, lead vocalist, and pretty much the heart and soul of the project. The look that Gleen sports out on stage certainly sets the tone for what you would expect to hear from this band. Of course, that type of hat screams country music. When you look at the rest of the crew, though, you’ll see where the reggae is coming from! That’s another unique element about Maoli: the visual experience is just as interesting as the lyrics.
Speaking of lyrics and beats, there’s arguably no song that exemplifies Maoli better than “Every Night, Every Morning.” It’s one of the more popular tracks from the band; you’re likely to hear it played live at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. The song kicks off with some guitar lines that are very reminiscent of country music; then, the reggae kicks in mid-track! That’s part of the Maoli experience. It’s not that sometimes Glenn will sing some country and other songs he’ll trade the hat for some Rastas and play reggae. The genres are completely intertwined in a way that perhaps no band is able to master. That alone is reason enough to see them live in Denver on Thursday, October 3rd.
