There is not use dissecting the sound of The Motet and trying to classify them in a specific genre. They are improv and sound layering wizards who are always out to defy genre classifications and outdo themselves. The Motet uphold their motto of “resolve to evolve”. They just keep pushing the sonic envelope further. One moment, if you think you’re hearing Jazz, Afrobeat, Funk, Salsa and Samba — you’re right! Or the next, if you think you’re hearing house and techno elements, you’re right too! Now listen to your body. If you’re getting the urge and the invigorating sensation to dance like there’s no tomorrow, then you’re in the right place! The keyword is: surrender.
